"When I came to New Life I was not looking for recovery, I came because treatment was required by the courts. It was my first time in a residential treatment center. What I discovered surprised me. I found knowledgeable, caring and competent staff and I found a home where I could rebuild my life after years of disconnect due to drug use. With the support of the New Life program, I was able to work during treatment and to return to college. I learned how addiction changed my mind and body and how to navigate through the inevitable cravings and urges that would come. In time, I realized I had a gift for communicating with other addicts and I began working in the field of recovery. I am now over ten years free of drug use.
