In November 1972, “New Life” began with concerned citizens wanting to help the homeless and addicted in Santa Cruz County. They began by providing shelter in their own homes. Soon after this effort expanded to a facility and began a focus on addiction counseling.
Decades later, the oldest program in Santa Cruz has grown to become a well-established family of services in Santa Cruz County and communities throughout California and across the United States. It operates a highly successful addiction treatment program, subsidized counseling services, provides emergency shelter and food for families in need and the homeless, and is involved with education and training of addiction counselors.
