New Life Community Services is a private, non-profit, 12-Step, social model program licensed by the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs. Residential and outpatient services are provided for 90-days, 6-months, and longer. New Life Community Services can accommodate up to 38 residential clients – 16 women, 22 men, and up to 10 children.
There is no better way to begin to face real life than supported in a program with people who understand and care. The New Life Community Services treatment program is designed to work best for clients who have a genuine personal desire for recovery. It works least well for those who cannot or will not take personal responsibility and those who do not value personal growth as well as personal independence and self-motivation in the recovery process. We expects clients to vigorously pursue personal growth in the 12-step recovery tradition and in particular, in ethics, honesty, responsibility, communication skills, and spirituality. Our clients are expected to pursue a positive work ethic in job placement and/or schooling, personal development as well as vigorous participation in programming.
There are significant advantages to New Life’s six-month program. It is long enough for a client to:
acclimate to the treatment environment,
finish detoxification,
adjust to the program routine
begin the process of transition to the daily responsibilities waiting for them once they graduate.
Our Treatment Philosophy
Treatment begins with planning for re-entry into the economic and social mainstream. Without a successful transition, relapse and recidivism are likely to occur. We believe that in order for recovery from substance abuse to be lasting, at some point recovery needs to occur in the midst of real life.
Throughout treatment clients are assisted in:
securing long-term employment
finding a place to live (whether local or in another county)
developing recovery support systems to be in place prior to graduation
